Are you excited about a new issue of ENgLIST almost being published? 🤩
We are! 🥳
And we want to share our excitement with you by telling you what to expect. 🤓
There will be a buch of short stories, some poetry, an essay and an interview! Yes, it is true, Mr. Jack Harte, a writer and the founder of Irish Wirters' Union and Irish Writers' Centre, has been kind enough to answer some of ENgLIST's questions. ☘️
You will be able to read the interview in the newspaper! 😊
Are you looking forward to it? 😎

Dia dhuit! :)
Here is a short recap of all you have to know about this year’s ENgLIST:
- We are publishing two issues: one thematic (coming out in December) and one - our 20th - classic (coming out in May).
- The deadline for the Irish issue is quickly approaching --> 15 November 2019
- We would like to encourage you to write about the beautiful Emerald Isle, about its politics, mythology, history, society, geography, culture, dance, music, traditions, people, and anything else you can think of.
- You can write a poem, an essay, a short story, a research paper … Anything!
- Last, but not least: an inspirational quote to help you be creative:
"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working." (Pablo Picasso)
P.S.: We apologize for not being up-to-date on the website. We had some technical issues, but it is all good now and we are back on track! :)

People, here you have another web-exclusive, this time a little more on the academic side of writing. The authors are our own editors (put online not to seize slots in the paper and thus prevent someone from being published), the overall subject area is literature.
Now go on and read it!
No excuses! :)

Jingle bells, jingle bells,

the articles today!
Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells,

Send your pieces to Englist

Did you know …
… that there is 1 day left until December starts?
… that there are 26 days until Christmas?
… that you only have 52 days left to create a masterpiece and send it to us?
Maybe you knew it already, maybe you didn't. But you certainly didn't know that in December Englist will be handing out awards to those who have already submitted their articles! :)
So, hurry up and send your film reviews, poems, stories, seminar or research papers, travel or exchange reports and other pieces of writing, to [email protected].
Toodle-oo!

Dear all!
You all know the moment when someone asks you, which news you'd rather hear first – the good or the bad? Let us save you the dilemma. We are starting with the bad news.
BAD NEWS: It's Monday again, which means we are back at lectures and drinking gallons of coffee.
And now get ready for news that are not only good but great, even!
GOOD NEWS: ENgLIST got sponsors! (How amazing is that?) They have prepared rewards that will hopefully be given to all who will contribute their articles. ENgLIST thanks MGL, Kinoteka, Cankarjev dom, Drama, Ljubljanski grad and Kinodvor for sponsoring our newspaper, and Ina Poteko for creating this exquisite poster.
A big thanks to everyone! :)

According to Bruce Springsteen 'you can't start a fire without a spark,' and according to our editors, we cannot create a new issue of ENgLIST without your articles.
So, just a quick reminder: make sure your sparks are turned into articles and sent to us.
We'll be waiting. :)

What? Where? When? Why?
That is no longer the question.
We've answered all of those during the week. :)
To recap: We want your articles on our emial ([email protected]) by the 20th January.
Why do it? Because … we all love English!
The only question that remains is whether to write or not to write.
We strongly encourage you to do the first. ;)

ENgLIST: Issue XVII is out now!
The day has finally come! ENgLIST is here to brighten these tumultuous days! This year's issue is out now and waiting for you at our department! Due to some complications regarding the financing of ENgLIST, we were forced to print fewer copies than planned, so if you wish to secure your own, please hurry up. For all those who prefer the e-version, you will be happy to know that it is already available on our website.
Thank you once again for participating in the making of ENgLIST, we hope you enjoy it and will return next year with more fantastic contributions. :)
